IN A Plymouth City Super League catch up week, Dave Roberts outperformed almost all of the Division A players as his 14-ton bonanza lit up Fawn A’s 6-5 Division B defeat against Legends Lounge.

Roberts on form as Fawn edge a thrilling contest

PLYMOUTH CITY SUPER LEAGUE

Roberts added a checkout of 130 to two maximums that topped up his ton tally to that mammoth total, whilst Roberts was supported by team-mate Dave Pethick well in the scoring phase of play.

Pethick went on to put up ten scores of a ton or more, whilst Will Broome’s contribution of 12 threefigure scores led the away team to victory.

Broome’s stablemate, Sean Burkitt, added the only maximum of the game for his side, whilst a 16-dart leg and a 92 checkout came in a 3-0 individual success for Simon Wilbraham.

Kev Marshall added 11 tons to the scoreboard for Victory as they took a 9-2 success from their home encounter against Fawn B.

Jason Goldsmith showed three moments of class with one of the two maximums hit by his team flanked by checkouts of 100 and 116 from the same arm.

AJ Brunton was another man in form for the home side with his team’s second 180, whilst Phil Hoskin checked a leg in 16 darts that proved crucial during a 3-2 triumph.

In Division A, Octagon’s embarrassment of riches came to the fore with John Mann’s 14 tons leading them to a 10-1 triumph over Clifton.

Other highlights included a 98 checkout by Neil White and a 15-darter during a 3-1 win for Fred Goldsmith that helped secure one of five individual successes.

Jack McMinn finished on 12 tons for Bluebird A but still saw his team walk away from their away trip to Indian B with a 9-2 defeat.

McMinn added one of four maximums in the match whilst two of the other three came in his 3-2 singles loss against Scott Cook who added a brace of his own.

Cook’s team-mate, Dan Brazier, added the other maximum on his way to an impressive ten-ton haul and a 3-2 win over Glenn Halford, who himself ended his night with a haul of eleven tons.

The key leg in Brazier’s success over Halford came in the form of a 14-darter, which proved to be the difference between the two titans.
