LEAVING AN ANGRY NOTE CAN 'LAND YOU IN BIG TROUBLE'

Warning to motorists over aggressive notes

MOTORISTS are being warned that the simple act of leaving an angry or aggressive note on someone's car could land you in big trouble. The common habit, which is often the result of road rage or parking frustration, can actually get you in trouble with the law.

But not everyone knows that leaving someone a strongly-worded note could lead to someone committing an offence, reports The Mirror. One way you could get into trouble is if the message you write is defamatory, and could cause reputational damage to the owner of the car.

And if you touch someone else's car, you could also be accused of damaging or scratching the vehicle. And the act of leaving notes rarely leads to a solution.
