HE FESTIVAL'S Food distribution venue, Putharikandam Maidan, offers free medical check-up for the public present there. This Medical Aid Post was set up by the Human Rights Council of India in collaboration with GG Hospital, Pattom, and VMTV News on the first day of the festival. It was inaugurated by Kadakampally Surendran MLA.
The primary focus of the medical team is to tackle and execute any case of emergency at the Maidan. They provide basic first aid facilities to people who approach them. "We provide basic first aid facilities here. For emergencies, we have an ambulance on standby for the patient to be shifted to the hospital," said Dr Kuldeep Raj. The team consists of a doctor and a nurse who are scheduled here according to shifts.
