The Philippines deposits instrument of ratification for ILO inspection convention

On November 5, 2024, the Philippines formally deposited its Instrument of Ratification for the International Labour Organization (ILO) Labor Inspection Convention, 1947 (No. 81).

The event marked a significant milestone in its commitment to enhancing labor standards and worker protections.
Undersecretary Benedicto Ernesto R. Bitonio, Jr., representing the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma and leading the Philippine Delegation to the 352nd Session of the ILO Governing Body, presented the ratification instrument to ILO Director General Gilbert Houngbo at a ceremony held at the ILO Headquarters in Geneva.
The ratification of Convention No. 81, the 41st ILO convention ratified by the Philippines, underscores the Philippines' commitment to fair and safe working conditions for all Filipino workers.
