Delhi records season's lowest night temperature at 8 degrees

New Delhi: The city on Wednesday recorded the season’s lowest minimum temperature so far at eight degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, at Safdarjung — Delhi’s base station.

 It was the coldest November night in the last two years. The lowest minimum temperature reported in November was 9.3 degrees Celsius in 2021 and 6.3 degrees Celsius in 2020. The Met officials said that cold northwesterly winds and the clear sky led to a drop in the night temperature.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature stood at 15.4 degrees Celsius on November 15. However, it reached below 10 degrees Celsius on November 18 at 9.6 degrees Celsius and has been dipping gradually since then.
