Immediately on passing through the big gate with the name Shalimar Bagh inscribed on it, one saw an ambulance struggling to make way through the dense traffic.

The road there was congested because of vehicles parked on the roadside and the pavements being almost fully encroached by hawkers. To add to the chaos, there were stray cattle on the road, even some with tagged ears.

While the roads in Shalimar Bagh are well laid out, the drains are fixed and there's no issue of waterlogging or sanitation in general, the 1.8 lakh voters in the three wards of the assembly constituency - Shalimar A, Shalimar B and Pitampura would have certain thoughts uppermost when choosing the party to vote for in the coming Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections.
