HOW nice it is to get March here and, with the start of the new Flat season in sight, all our trainers have their horses in strong work and are busy preparing their charges for the upcoming season.
Later this month the very best horses will go over racecourse side of town to do their first serious work of the year and we get a good idea how they have wintered and progressed. Some will have come on a great deal. It is all a very exciting time for me being able to be out there on the gallops early morning, taking in all the action.
INFLUENTIAL is a juvenile in the Roger Varian string to have already grabbed my attention. This son of Wootton Bassett is out of Shenanigan, who Roger trained. He is a powerful bay colt out of a proper fast mare and has a great deal of presence and really took the eye in his early work.
