Miguel Timm has had a run of good form at Orlando Pirates and locked down his place as a vital cog in the Buccaneers' team this season.
The experienced midfielder was born in Durban, but was raised in Gauteng, where he began his youth career playing in Mondeor, a suburb in south Johannesburg. This is where he attracted interest from the Pirates and SuperSport United academies.
Following a brief stint with the Buccaneers' under-12 team, he left Pirates to continue his development, first at Ajax Cape Town and then at SuperSport United.
"I spent about seven years at SuperSport and during that time, we won the Bayhill and Engen Knockout tournaments, and all that. When I was offered a senior contract, I opted for Wits instead," Timm said.
After honing his craft at the junior level, he started his professional journey playing for Bidvest Wits between 2011 and 2014, before a stint at Mpumalanga Black Aces from 2014 to 2015.
Timm then made a move abroad and spent two years in the United States playing in the United Soccer League for Arizona United, who then became Phoenix Rising, where he played alongside former Chelsea duo Didier Drogba and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
