It is very likely that by the time you read this, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will have joined Spanish giants Barcelona in La Liga. Or he will be unhappily serving out the final year of his contract for Bayern Munich.
It is a sad state of affairs to see the tumultuous development between Lewandowski and Bayern's top brass, who have crassly managed their determination to hang on to the star, despite his wishes.
But the last few months need not detract from the fact that he has been synonymous with Bayern's dominance of the Bundesliga and the legacy that he will leave at the club after seven seasons of brilliance is incomparable.
He began his career in Germany at Dortmund playing under Jurgen Klopp. He scored 72 goals in 131 Bundesliga appearances between 2010 and 2014. In 2012, the striker scored once in the first leg against Bayern and three times in the second leg to secure the club's first double over their rivals.
