In the last few years, we have witnessed lots of sports persons speak about their mental health issues. A global conversation has started about the Mental Health of sportspersons, and rightly so. What is Mental Health in the Athlete context? The World Health Organization states that “mental health is an integral and essential component of health”. Mental Health isn’t a mere absence of disease or infirmity. “It is a state of well-being wherein an individual is aware of his/her abilities, wherein individuals can cope with life’s normal stresses and work productively and also be able to contribute to their community”
