Owen Bailey rose high to head home the only goal just before the break, making it five wins on the spin for Rovers.
“I felt it was another good performance from us,” said McCann.
“We knew Wrexham are very good on transition so we had to be good on the ball.
“They sit in that midblock and when they win it back they break quickly.
“It was a really good performance from us and I’m really proud of the boys.
“We scored a really good goal worthy of winning any game.
“A tremendous cross from James Maxwell and an excellent header from Owen Bailey, who got up above Will Boyle who’s probably their best header of the ball.”
