NIGERIA

Nigeria, nicknamed the 'Giant of Africa', is a vast, diverse nation of 233 million people from more than 250 different tribes, each with unique beliefs, languages and culinary traditions.

The Hausa-Fulani, one of the largest groups, are known for suya spice, a smoky, nutty seasoning for grilled meats. The Yoruba are celebrated for their spicy ayamase stew, packed withscotch bonnet peppers. And the Igbo feature cassava and yam heavily in their cooking.

Our roots are in Benin City, in Edo State, where ogbono soup is made with the ground dry seeds of ogbono (wild African mango).
