A Music to the Ears

Born on 2nd June 2000, to a Kashmiri Pandit family in Delhi, Vedang Raina spent his childhood in the city of dreams, Mumbai. Just like any other Gen Z kid, he grew up listening to his parents rave about Hindi cinema and music. His mom, being a huge Bollywood buff, often took him to the theatres to watch the latest releases. However, as per the young movie fanatic, it was his dad who was instrumental in exposing him to international cinema with Bruce Lee movies, Sherlock Holmes and JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. While the first ever movie he watched in theatres was Bunty Aur Babli, since childhood his favourite actor has been Hrithik Roshan whose Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Krrish were some movies that he loved watching as a child. Influenced by his uncle who was a professional guitarist, Vedang grew up listening to a lot of AC/DC, Metallica and Coke Studio. His journey into the world of music began when his parents motivated him to learn tabla as an instrument because it instilled a sense of discipline. The story of how he picked up learning guitar is that of any young boy learning music. It was to join the school band and impress a bunch of girls in school. One of the first tunes he ever learned was Karz's theme song and Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water. When prodded to sing a bit along with playing, Vedang developed a talent for singing and playing instruments that was music to the ears not only for him but also for his fans who loved listening to the covers of songs he posted on social media.
