What is your top beauty tip?
Listen to your skin. Our skin isn’t always the same and, depending on the time of year, it can feel drier. You may use a product because your friend loves it but your skin might go ‘Not for me!’. And it’s important to listen to that. I think a lot of people are overdoing things at the moment. People buy something because everyone else is using it, but it doesn’t mean it is right for you.
Talk us through your new product and why you are so passionate about it.
It’s skincare, it’s called The Elevator, and it’s designed to improve and prevent the signs of ageing on the neck and décolletage. It’s like a moisturiser and a serum had a baby. We have our own lab at Trinny London and we’re always looking for new, interesting ingredients. We came across phyto, from a plant in Japan. It’s an extract that helps the plant grow two metres tall and stay straight. I thought ‘That’s what I want to use in a neck cream’ because when you’re 40-plus or menopausal, you get separation, which can become a turkey neck. Phyto is one of the main ingredients in The Elevator and it helps with sagging. We’ve done months of clinical trials with amazing data. There’s a before and after of a 65-year-old woman, and it’s like she’s had plastic surgery!
