The numbers of Contract Employees are about 3000/and permanent employees are 475/- Nos. 70 percent contractual labour are deployed from nearby villages. A new ER manager joins this large plant in March 2015. HR department of said plant arranged joining formalities & induction of IR manager as per norms. Since new manager was highly proactive, he had one to one meet with all local leaders of influence, whether they were part & partial of local unions or not.
On 7th July 2015 a local contract workman Sunil was found in unconscious position in the cement mill area at about 13.15 Hrs during lunch time. The matter was informed to the security for ambulance. The Security supervisor provided the ambulance on the site but did not inform to his superior as well ER personnel as they were on lunch. After reaching at hospital of the plant, doctors (CMO) observed the patient and found him dead but keeping in the mind the sensitivity of the issue, the doctors referred the patient to higher Government Medical centre for further investigation and informed the incident to senior management.
