Warm tones, classic and vintage styles, and futuristic furniture—the new year has some interesting décor trends in store.

Haute Homes

Printed furnishing, muted tones (a touch of pop and otherwise), futuristic furniture and decluttering are some of the highlights of the Indian home décor scene in 2018. Interior designers, architects and décor experts share their views on the trends that will make this year a good one.

PEACEFUL SHADES

This year is all about warm interiors, especially with wooden and extruded-wood (a wood-plastic composite)furniture, and greens and whites seeping into the accents. It will also see softer shapes in furniture or home accessories— this means more curves and arches, and less squares and straight lines. “Given the pandemonium across the world, the emphasis will be on bringing serenity into homes, which contrasts the chaos outside,” says Mumbai-based interior designer Ravi Vazirani of Ravi Vazirani Design Studio. You can also expect pastel shades, warm-toned fabrics, and more eye-catching and playful furniture in 2018.
