When Kate Moss celebrates a landmark birthday, it’s usually pretty spectacular.

For her 40th, guests were treated to a four-day celebration in the Cotswolds that cost an estimated £100,000. And when the catwalk star turned 30, she threw a The Beautiful and Damned-themed bash at Claridge’s hotel, including a brief interlude at close friend Sam taylor-johnson’s house that attracted numerous no i se complaints from neighbours and went on until 7.30am.

But it was an altogether more sedate affair when the British supermodel celebrated her 50th birthday last week, with just a small group of her nearest and dearest inv invited to an intimate gathering in Paris.

Designer Stella McCartney, makeup guru Charlotte Tilbury, actress Sadie Frost and hairstylist James Brown were among the chosen few who joined Kate’s photographer boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck, 37, and her model daughter Lila, 21, at chic restaurant Laurent.

After dining together inside the Michelin-starred venue, the group danced to some of their favourite hits before departing at a relatively early 2am for the luxury Ritz hotel, where they were all staying.

A source close to the model said that this year’s celebrations show how much Kate, who was previously infamous for her partying lifestyle, has changed in recent years as she continues to embrace wellness and sobriety – and she wanted her party to reflect that.
