As a host of A-listers prepares to celebrate a milestone birthday this year, we look at their positive approach to ageing and why they believe they're in the prime of life

Although Hollywood star Bradley made his name in the film The Hangover, he won't be living up to his on-screen hard-partying alter ego when he wakes up on 6 January.

The actor, who has been sober for many years, turns 50 the day before and is likely to have marked the landmark occasion with a quiet celebration alongside his 29-year-old girlfriend Gigi Hadid and six-year-old daughter Lea De Seine, whom he shares with his former partner, model Irina Shayk.

Happy, settled and enjoying parenthood, Bradley has said: "Having a child and having a family of my own - which is a miracle and something I've always dreamt of - has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present." He counts himself lucky that he's now drug and alcohol-free.

"I didn't get lost in fame," he told Bear Grylls in 2023. "In terms of alcohol and drugs, yeah [I had wild years]. Nothing to do with fame.

"But I was lucky. I got sober at 29 years old, and I've been sober for 19 years. I've been very lucky."

"You're as old as you feel," the former Spice Girl, who celebrates the big 5-0 on 29 May, has said. "Numbers aren't relevant.

"You can have a bit of a panic when you come into your 40s, because you haven't got things quite as you thought they were going to be. You have some of your hardest challenges.
