48 hours on the Bund. 4 iconic women. 4 timepieces. It’s safe to say PRIYANKA KAPADIA had a gala time at the launch of Omega’s new Constellation watch.
The glittering Shanghai skyline (insta-bait if there ever was one!) had a competing view on a cool evening in October. For the launch of their new Constellation Manhattan watches, Swiss label Omega flew in a line-up of their stunning leading ladies—Ales-sandra Ambrosio, Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman and Liu Shishi. In a dramatic moment, they descended down a grand staircase against a backdrop of mirrors and a powerhouse performance by composer Stephen Ridley.
The foursome, all dressed in head-totoe fiery red, were the perfect models for the new designs—featuring white opal dials and marked by 12 special radiant ruby baguettes (their cut is inspired by the Manhattan skyline, most notably the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower).
The Constellation was first launched in 1952 and redesigned in 1982, when it was given its current name. In 1995, the watch went through a stylish facelift with the help of supermodel and ambassador Cindy Crawford. Naturally then in my conversation with the two ambassadors Cindy Crawford and Nicole Kidman, we talk making time, changing times, and buying time.
CINDY CRAWFORD
On family time...
“As you get older, you realise the most valuable commodity you have is time. No matter how hard you try, you can’t buy or fight time. We live on the beach in Malibu and we’ve made our family our priority—even with our children being older now, we cancel plans to take Kaia to sushi or watch a movie with Presley. It’s my favourite way to spend time.”
