The library has been around for more than 100 years, making it the oldest on the peninsula, according to the Sargentville Library Association website. The entity was founded in 1874 and the building erected in the classical style in 1905.
Librarians Kay Grover and Janet Anderson, and Pamela Simmons and Diana Marston Wood, chairs of the board of directors, oversee and maintain the library and its extensive physical and online historical archive.
