PLYMOUTH'S delayed Armada Way revamp is putting the Sound at risk of being polluted by sewage, the city's Tories say. Conservative councillors have called on the Labour administration to get on with the stalled £12.7m scheme, saying it could result in the National Marine Park suffering from continued environmental pollution.
The opposition Tory Group has tabled a motion for the full council meeting on June 19, saying Labour's decision to overturn the original project, which saw 110 trees felled in March, and look at a redesign is "unacceptable to shoppers, local businesses and potential city centre investors".
It calls on the authority to restart the "essential" project without delay to revive the city centre and install an urban drainage system.
