A PLYMOUTH theatre company is celebrating its centenary by putting on two shows.
PGS Theatre Productions (formally Plymouth Gilbert and Sullivan Fellowship) was formed in 1923 and turns 100 years old this year.
It is one of the oldest companies in the UK still dedicating some of its work to Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, but it also produces many other much-loved musical classics.
The company is celebrating its anniversary by putting on a production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes at the Devonport Playhouse this week (June 7-10), and it will also be holding a special 100th anniversary celebration concert at Theatre Royal Plymouth in September.
The company says its production of Anything Goes, which will include a special British Sign Language performance, promises to be a ‘De-lightful’, ‘De-licious’, and ‘De-lovely’ show.
