Championship means more miles for Pilgrims

It will be around the same distance as from London to Wellington in New Zealand, the home city of Pilgrims' striker Ben Waine.

Argyle's players will likely travel by coach to most of the games but there is also the option of flying to some of the furthest away ones.

The Pilgrims' squad took plane journeys last season to the FA Cup tie at Grimsby Town as well as the League One fixtures against Ipswich Town and Morecambe.

The total distance for return trips to Argyle's away games in the 2023/24 Championship is 11,922 miles, which averages out at 518 per match.

It is an increase of 764 miles compared to the 2022/23 campaign, which saw the Pilgrims crowned as League One champions with 31 wins and 101 points.
