SKIPPER Robin Dart was the man of the moment for Cornwood 2nd XI in a thumping 160-run win over Plymouth 2nd XI on the Mount Wise ground.
Dart top scored with 73 not out in a Cornwood total of 294 for eight in 45 overs.
Opener Charles Finan (72) dominated a first-wicket stand of 125 with Ben Griffiths (33) before a ministumble to 134 for four.
Dart, firstly with Aaron Richards and Adam Goodlife, and latterly with Matt Puttock (42no) held the middle order together.
The only Plymouth bowler to pose real problems for Cornwood was Jon Kerridge, who bagged five wickets for 33 runs.
Plymouth had a task on their hands just to stay competitive after dipping to 35 for four in reply. Adam Goodliffe (3-14) got among the wickets. Sam Knapman (14) and Jimmy Haffenden (34) resisted for a long time before Dart broke the partnership.
With Dart (3-12) at one end and Jason Hall (3-30) at the other, Plymouth subsided to 134 all out.
Dart said it was just the performance needed ahead of the derby clash with Ivybridge this Saturday.
"We were superb with bat and ball - and nice to get a deserved 20 points," said Dart.
"A few lads were a bit rusty but, on a whole, I cannot complain as everyone got miles in their legs
"Ivybridge next is a huge game that will give us an early indication of where we are this year. Hopefully, we can build on this result."
HARRY Solomon crafted an unbeaten half-century to steer Ivybridge to a four-wicket win over Babbacombe.
Babbacombe, newly promoted this season, made 208 for nine in their 45 overs thanks to a couple of sizeable knocks.
