Ground sharing with Truro City certainly does not make life easy for groundsman Gary Turner and his small band of volunteers, who had to call off both scheduled midweek games for Parkway and the White Tigers this past week due to the sodden nature of the Bolitho Park playing surface.
They are working around the clock to try and get tomorrow's game on but, with the forecast of more rain to come and lots of it as well Parkway are anxious that tomorrow’s clash with North Leigh will become another victim to Mother Nature.
“Gary and his team are doing their utmost to get these games on, but they certainly aren’t being helped by this weather,’ Parkway boss Lee Hobbs said. All we can do as a club is try and do all we can to get the games on and myself and my players must prepare for the game being on.”
The problem is that we are now in the final stretch of a gruelling season which, in all truth, has been littered with frustrating postponements. If tomorrow’s game does go ahead, then Parkway will have to play their final eight games in just 21 days with recent postponements against Tiverton Town and Winchester City rearranged for Wednesday, April 12 and Tuesday, April 18 respectively.
