Patriots' season ends with them missing play-offs
The Herald|April 25, 2023
IT HAS been a long and eventful season for the Plymouth City Patriots, who finished their second BBL season in ninth place, missing out on the play-offs in agonising fashion, on points difference.

Patriots' season ends with them missing play-offs

The entire season came down to the very last game against the Newcastle Eagles and despite making the brighter start, the Patriots ran out of steam and would lose convincingly on the night, 90-68.

It was the end of an exhausting season for the Patriots squad, who saw a number of personnel changes involving key players and injuries that seemed to stack the odds against the Plymouth side, despite the unwavering support from their fans.

During last summer the club made some very impressive signings early on, including the return of Antonio Williams, Joe Hart and Troy Simons and everything pointed to a successful season, even when starting guard Joe Hart would go down with a season ending injury without playing a single game.

Early injuries to Simons and Williams also hindered the team's progress and were it not for the heroics of Rashad Hassan and and captain Elvisi Dusha, things could have been very different.
