Distiller William Grant & Sons Ltd. releases a Scotch fit for Croesus
“WHISKEY is an excellent prelude to any evening,” wrote novelist Alec Waugh, the man credited with inventing the cocktail party. Yes, but which whiskey? Rye or bourbon are fine for a Sazerac or Manhattan, but when it comes to sipping straight, for some, only a single malt Scotch will do.
While a few fingers of the golden elixir are a perfect way to ease into an evening, they’re also not a bad way to end the day, preferably with a fire or a good view to add to one’s enjoyment. And, whether smoky or spicy, taken neat or with a pristine splash of water, a great single malt is an exceptional experience.

In a global city known for its flamboyance, abundance, and glitz, where outrageously oversized skyscrapers push upward around the Persian Gulf, where bling and brand names overwhelm as much as the punishing heat and humidity, it’s not surprising that some of its inhabitants would seek relief from the constant grind of construction and never-ending thrust toward the future.
