Going Public
When Parrey Cremeans headed out on a do-it-yourself Nevada mule deer hunt, he did so as a solo hunter. Cremeans was up for the challenge, and with an early season starting in August, he laced up his boots and set out to find a big, mature, velvet-racked buck.
Elk In The Snow
When wounded veteran Greg Peete drove from his home in Indiana to Casper, Wyoming, to start his adventure, it didn’t take long to put his first antelope on the ground.

Personal Standards
Contraction Elk
When Autumn Ifland drew the second elk tag in her life, she knew she was going – even though she’d be nine months pregnant.
Thomas Grill's Oddball Bull
Despite being busy with work, Thomas Grill headed into Wyoming’s unit 21 late in the afternoon, with bow in hand, to take advantage of the rut. The hunt was on public land on which he had hunted many times in the past, but the weather was hot, muggy and not very conducive to hunting. Thomas had his girlfriend, Jamilee Scandle, along for the adventure, and they hiked into the hills to check some locations where elk had been encountered in previous years.

The Venerable .22-250 Remington.
Solo for Wild Hogs
A multi-mile hike can seem short while having a quiet conversation with hunting buddies, and by the time hunters know it, they’re at their spot, glassing at first light.

Spot-and-Stalk Hunting at its Best.
Bighorn Whitetails
With more than a dozen peaks reaching beyond 12,000 feet in elevation, and a few ascending above 13,000, the Bighorn Mountains rise from the Wyoming prairie just northwest of Casper before petering out along the Bighorn River across the state line south of Billings, Montana. To disinterested passers-by, the Bighorns may appear to have been peeled from the Rockies like a torn toenail.
Bull or Nothing
He slept silently in the flannel of an over-sized sleeping bag, a pint-sized anomaly in a tent full of men.
