Liquid assets

Have you decided to kick start a healthier lifestyle, and want to get more fruit and veg into your everyday diet? Making your own juices and smoothies is an easy way to get the benefits of fresh produce.

JUICERS & BLENDERS CENTRIFUGAL JUICERS

These machines pulverise ingredients against quick spinning blades, creating a centrifugal force inside a strainer, separating juice from pulp.

Pros: Affordable, easy to use and has a large chute for whole ingredients.

Cons: Lower juice yield and enzyme content compared to cold press juicers; juice separation and foam.

COLD PRESS JUICERS

This low speed juicer minimises heat generation and comes in vertical and horizontal models.

Pros: Increased juice yield and nutritional content, less froth and separation.

Cons: Expense, however juice yield is higher. The smaller chute requires ingredients to be small or chopped first.

PERSONAL BLENDERS

These blenders are ideal for single portion drinks, and even though you are blending small amounts, you still want a machine with a powerful motor. For a drink to−go, choose a model with a BPA− free blender jar that doubles as a sports bottle, with a spill−proof drinking lid.
