This contemporary residence in new delhi is designed by Ar. Nilanjan Bhowal, who has ably created living spaces around green pockets, which is both refreshing and revitalising.
Diverse elements such as colours, textures, materials, finishes, lighting and greenery play a major role in shaping the contemporary style interiors of this residence in the Greater Kailash 1, in New Delhi. Spread across 7,500 sq. ft. area, the four-level home has been designed by Ar. Nilanjan Bhowal, Principal Architect, Design Consortium. In terms of space planning, the residence has a basement with an entertainment zone; the ground floor has the living area, dining room and kitchen. The first floor houses a family lounge, study area, two bedrooms, while the second floor has the guest bedroom, gym and terrace. “The client wanted an open space and villa-like feel in this city residence. Therefore, the home is set around green central courts, gardens and terrace gardens,” Nilanjan says.
The architect has designed in a way that the home is surrounded by open areas on all sides and is well-lit and has proper ventilation. “We started by creating large green open areas and articulating the living spaces around them. Hence, every space in this residence opens to a green space. This also ensures there is ample natural light.” the architect adds.
