When Senior Designer Verena Lim of Resistance was brought onboard to work on this house, her clients, a young couple, wanted a stylish and comfortable space where they could host friends and family frequently. They wanted a bar, and they also had two contrasting styles in mind for different spaces. The living room and kitchen needed to be bright with a Scandinavian-influenced colour palette, while a darker, more cocooning feel was requested for the bedrooms and bathrooms. Beyond these guidelines, the homeowners gave Verena plenty of free rein to play with the design.

From the get-go, Verena had bold ideas for this home. Wanting to give the owners a proper foyer area, the designer proposed a two-tone treatment for the entrance in striking teal and blue shades. This would make an impactful impression and visually magnify the space. “I hoped the owners would like the idea, which they did,” Verena enthused.
