There’s more to the Lady Dior than its precious ties with the late Princess Diana. For one, there’s the history of the bag’s quilted pattern, otherwise known as Dior Cannage, a design motif inspired by the cane-weaving technique. Called cannage in French, it was used in the Napoleon Ill-style chairs in Monsieur Christian Dior’s Paris atelier. This season, a new iteration named Lady Dior Pearl Cannage elevates the signature quilting with pristine white-resin pearls. To match the colourway of the pearlised embroidery, the bag is fashioned in just one shade a dusty white that the brand has dubbed as Latte — and accentuated with pale gold hardware and ornate hand-crafted DIOR charms.
