London Bridge Terror Tragedy Remembering Our Aussie Angels

It was a normal Saturday night in London’s hip Borough Market district – people flocking to bars and restaurants, watching football in the pub, relaxing with family and friends.

But the bustle turned to terror as three terrorists drove a rented white van into pedestrians strolling across London Bridge, then leapt out and began stabbing strangers in an orgy of violence.

The rampage lasted just eight minutes before British police gunned the killers down. Eight innocent victims died, including vibrant young Australians Kirsty Boden and Sara Zelenak.

KIRSTY BODEN, 28

Heroic nurse Kirsty died as she had lived – trying to save other people’s lives.

Caught in the carnage and chaos, brave Kirsty did not flee from danger. Instead, in a selfless bid to treat the wounded and dying, she ran towards the killers.

For her grief-stricken family, friends and colleagues, Kirsty’s final act of courage was typical of the bright, bubbly girl from country Loxton in South Australia, who had a passion for nursing, travel and swimming.
