Yakima Valley’s excellent growing conditions produce 78% of the nation’s hops, while more than 12,000 acres of vineyards create award winning wines. It’s easy to embrace the surroundings of endless hop fields, vineyards, and an experience felt beyond the tasting room.
Many of the craft beverage tasting facilities are located on a working vineyard or hopfield. The rich volcanic soil bodes well for the grapes and hops alike, as there are more than 30 different wine grape and hop varieties available in the Yakima Valley. Cideries have also taken to using fruit from their orchards and creating cider and distilled libations.
