Things just aren’t going Rod Stewart’s way. While his fans might think him sexy, the legendary rocker ticked many of them off by cancelling the March 18 concert of his Australian tour at the very last minute.

Sharing that he had been struck down by a viral infection, Rod announced the news just three hours before he was due to perform at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong, Victoria.

“My greatest joy is performing for you, so I’m doing everything I can to get on the mend and get back on stage,” he told disappointed ticket holders.

It’s not just a sore throat plaguing Rod, 78, however. Our well-placed insider says the melancholic musician has been experiencing a heavy heart ever since he headed Down Under for his tour earlier this month.
