MCD may soon let private agencies tow away vehicles
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is set to grant agencies operating private parking spaces the right to tow away vehicles illegally parked in areas surrounding these facilities, officials aware of the matter said on Monday. The civic body will also impose fines on such vehicles in the form of removal and storage charges, which will be divided in a 50:50 ratio with the operators, the officials said.
MCD invites bids to remove waste along railway tracks within Delhi
The area along railway tracks in the national capital have long been unofficial dumping grounds for municipal waste, with a joint assessment by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Indian Railways released on May 22 estimating that around 31,000 metric tonne of garbage has been dumped along railway tracks in the city.
