How to customise the Control Centre in iPadOS
YOU’LL NEED
iPad running iPadOS
Control Centre is one of the most useful, but perhaps also one of the most under-used features in iPadOS. Not many people realise how useful it can be and that you don’t have to stick to the default controls.
There is much more to Control Centre than adjusting volume or brightness, or turning Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on and off. Whether you want to use the Home app to switch a light on, scan a QR code, or make a recording of the iPad’s screen, you can do it all from Control Centre – with a little customisation. In addition to choosing which features are accessible, you can configure the layout, and specify whether it’s accessible when you’re running an app, or only from the Home screen.
Once you’ve got it set up the way you want it, the key to getting the most from it is to use it often and create a habit. If there are two ways to do something and one of them is to use Control Centre, use Control Centre. Build the muscle memory and soon you will reach for it instinctively. Kenny Hemphill
HOW TO Add more handy controls
1 How to see Control Centre
To view Control Centre on your iPad, swipe down from the top right of the screen. That works in both portrait and landscape mode. Be careful not to swipe too close to the centre or you’ll pull down the lock screen instead.
2 Customise content
