Independents Day Robert D.Miles
Something different this month as we talk to a filmmaker whose life could have come straight out of a sci-fi movie but actually spurred him on to be behind a series of UFO conspiracy documentaries. The truth might be out there, just keep watching the skies!

Well that came out of nowhere. After a couple of years of rumours, dragging their heels and quickly changing the topic whenever anyone raises the subject, Paramount has finally announced not one, but two new Star Trek movies.
The Further is Calling…
LIN SHAYE is a huge, huge favourite of many a genre fan, with her likely best known for supporting roles in a whole host of horror efforts such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Critters, Alone in the Dark, Amityville: A New Generation, the 2001 Maniacs movies, Snakes on a Plane, Chillerama, the Ouija pictures, not to mention comedic turns in There’s Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber, and for chastising rock music as ‘the devil’ in the splendid Detroit Rock City. Of course, the past decade has seen the hugely charming Shaye playing a vital role in the massively popular Insidious franchise. For the fourth film in that series - INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY - horror hounds were all kinds of excited to hear that Shaye was getting top billing, and ahead of the film’s home release we were lucky enough to grab some time with this horror icon to discuss what she herself describes as “the highlight of my life”, the progression of Shaye’s Elise character throughout the Insidious franchise, the family feel amongst the series’ key players, and we even ask her about her role in the upcoming return of The Grudge.

Watching Doctor Who
An In-Depth Look At The Whoniverse.
Deborah Watling (1948-2017)
The last few years have not been kind to that elite acting group often referred to as ‘the Doctor Who girls’, that band of brave, fearless young women who travelled through Space and Time alongside the Doctor in the ‘classic’ original run of the TV sci-fi legend (1963-1989).
Paradise Postponed
The Alien series has taken us on a long and – to put it mildly – very strange journey since a hibernating circle of seven dreamers returning from a deep space towing mission were awoken by a mysterious signal from a storm-blown planet known only as LV-426.
Unfinished Monkey Business
After the dawn and rise, civilisation attempts to strike back. We take a look at the eagerly-awaited third instalment of the successful update of the classic series as we go to WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES…
SimianScope
Although it might not have scaled the box office heights of behemoths like JURASSIC WORLD, the recent KONG: SKULL ISLAND was nevertheless a massive hit with moviegoers worldwide and likely to kickstart a franchise world that will include city-levelling scrapping with the likes of Godzilla. Kong himself is a cultural icon comparable with his nuclear-age nemesis Gojira, as well as other silver screen scarers like Dracula and the Alien franchise’s xenomorphs. The latest instalment of the rebooted PLANET OF THE APES saga hits screens soon and there are plenty of imit-ape-ors (boom!) that left us with films great, good and oh-so-bad. It’s only ape-propriate (boom!) that we give a little love to the greatest gorillas, the monkeys with the most and the primates you love to hate. It’s time to go ape (boo… ah, you get the idea).
