Chaos Tackle Continues Expanding Product Lineup

It’s the long, wiggling tails which muskies find hard to resist that give the Medussa its name.

Rick Albers knew he had to do it right if he wanted to get deeper into the musky fishing industry. So, he pursued and purchased a lure with an established name, and things really began to take off from there.

Already the owner of Esox Assault Tackle Company, the manufacturer of a full line of bucktails, Albers struck a deal in 2013 with Jason Summers to acquire the Medussa soft plastic lure and, as they say, the rest is history.

“We were actually doing pretty good with the bucktails and I could just see that they made a lot of difference for the people who bought them,” Albers said back in August. “I decided if I was going to get serious about tackle I needed to acquire a name everybody would recognize. So I talked with Jason and we made a deal and it wasn’t very long before I was making Medussas and had the name Chaos Tackle.”

The Medussa gets its name from its three long tails that wiggle as it moves through the water, much like Medusa of Greek mythology who had writhing snakes in lieu of hair. While gazing at Medusa was said to turn people to stone, muskies seeing the Medussa are often triggered to bite.
