Nearly sixty prominent companies and trade associations have filed an amicus brief in support of the Optional Practical Training (OPT) programme, which allows foreign students to stay in the US post their studies to gain work experience for a specific period of time. The move came following an appeal made by the Washington Alliance of Technology Workers’ challenging the OPT programme in the circuit court of appeals in the district of Columbia.
