Import restrictions lifted for specific IT gear
The government clarified that specific IT hardware products, such as desktop computers, face no import restrictions. In a circular to customs authorities and industry, the commerce ministry arm, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), stated that only laptops, tablets, all-in-one personal computers, ultra-small form factor computers, and servers have import restrictions. Imports of these items are allowed with a valid import authorization.
