ASSEMBLE BLOCK 1
Measurements include ¼" seam allowances. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated by arrows on diagrams. If no direction is specified, press seam toward darker fabric.
1. Sew together two light blue print 2½x42" strips and one dark blue print 4½x42" strip to make Strip Set A (Diagram 1). Repeat to make four A strip sets total. Cut strip sets into fifty 2½"-wide A segments.
2. Sew together two dark blue print 2½x42" strips and one green print 4½x42" strip to make Strip Set B (Diagram 2). Repeat to make three B strip sets total. Cut strip sets into twenty-five 41/2"-wide B segments.
3. Sew together two A segments and one B segment to make Block 1 (Diagram 3). The block should be 8/2" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make 25 total of Block 1.
ASSEMBLE BLOCK 2
1. Sew together two dark blue print 2½x42" strips and one white tone-on-tone 4½x42" strip to make Strip Set C (Diagram 4). Repeat to make a second Strip Set C. Cut strip sets into thirty-two 2½"-wide C segments.
2. Sew together two white tone-on-tone 2½x42" strips and one gold print 4½x42" strip to make Strip Set D (Diagram 5). Repeat to make a second Strip Set D. Cut strip sets into sixteen 4½"-wide D segments.
3. Sew together two C segments and one D segment to make Block 2 (Diagram 6). The block should be 8½" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make 16 total of Block 2.
