MATTHEW BALDWIN is 36 holes from delivering a shock victory at the BMW PGA only two years after driving an Amazon van.
But the Southport star insisted: "I was more nervous about crashing the van!"
World No.363 Baldwin first played on the European Tour in 2012 but has lost his card twice - and before playing the Challenge Tour in 2022 took the driving job in north-west England.
Now the journeyman will take a two-shot lead from Niklas Norgaard and the best players in Europe into the weekend in pursuit of the £1.15m first prize. Rory McIlroy (right) is four shots back in fourth place after his 68.
But Baldwin, 38, admitted: "There have been plenty of times I have been tempted to give up and try something else.
