Scientists use protein that triggers body's killer cells to fight disease

SCIENTISTS believe they may have found a protein to help them develop a breakthrough cancer vaccine.

The body's immune system contains natural killer cells which can attack a protein that drives cancer growth.

Researchers believe that by using this protein - known as XPO1 - they may be able to activate more killer cells to destroy the disease, paving the way for new and less invasive treatment.
