EX-COP JAILED FOR STEALING CASH FROM DEAD MAN'S WALLET

A FORMER police constable has been jailed for stealing £115 from a dead man, after filming himself counting the money.

PC Craig Carter, 51, took the cash from Italian film-maker Claudio Gaetani, 45, who died of a heart attack on his way to meet friends.

Jailing the Met officer for 16 months, Judge Kaly Kaul KC described his crime as "abhorrent".

The court heard that during his 23-year career, Carter had responded to the 7/7 bombings in 2005, the 2011 Tottenham riots and the Westminster Bridge terror attack in 2017. But Judge Kaul told the married father of two:
