Israel: New Hamas chief a 'dead man'

ISRAEL has vowed to kill new Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who masterminded the deadly October 7 attacks.

Sinwar, 61, has replaced Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated by Israel's secret service with a hidden bomb in Tehran last Wednesday.

His death follows the killing of Hamas's military chief Mohammed Deif in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip last month.

The high-profile attacks by Israel have increased tensions in the Middle East so much that Britons have been told to leave Lebanon by our Foreign Office.

UK ships and helicopters are on standby to get people out amid fears a retaliation by Iran, which backs Hamas, will explode into an all-out regional conflict.
