JOSH JONES has joined the growing list of ex-players suing rugby’s governing bodies after being diagnosed with a brain injury.

The former Super League star – who also had a spell in the 15-a-side code with Exeter Chiefs – announced yesterday he has Stage 2 Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

CTE is a progressive and fatal brain disease associated with repeated traumatic brain injuries, including concussions and repeated blows to the head.

Jones, 31, retired from playing last September, shortly after leaving Huddersfield Giants having been sidelined by numerous concussions.
