Love cheat jailed for hiring hitman to kill wife launches appeal

A CHEATING husband who hired a hitman to murder his wife has launched a bid to overturn his conviction, which could dash hopes of the killer ever being identified.

Allen Morgan, 74, was jailed for life in July after Carol, 36, was bludgeoned to death more than 40 years ago so he could start a new life with his lover.

He was told he would die behind bars but he has now lodged an appeal against his conviction - and it is feared he will be too immersed in that process to give police who want to quiz him any useful information.
