SOUTHPORT stabbing victim Elsie Dot Stancombe was a "truly unforgettable girl who could light up any room", her funeral heard yesterday.

Hundreds lined the streets as the seven-year-old's coffin was taken to the service on a white horse-drawn carriage.

In a moving statement, the youngster's dad David and mum Jenni described Elsie as a "devoted Swiftie who loved to dance".

They added: "Elsie has brought light, love and joy to so many lives and it has been clear to us in the overwhelming response from everybody that knew her and everybody within the community."

The couple, who also share daughter Rosie, three, said Elsie spent every day enjoying life with love and kindness.
