Mum and the baby girl nearly died after a postbirth haemorrhage so she is taking no chances.
The Emmerdale star, 36, said: "I love our NHS but I know how stretched they are and with the strikes.
"I felt uneasy at the thought of history repeating itself... and not enough staff to help."
